Madden Millworks is built on a tradition of craftsmanship, family values, and a dedication to excellence that spans nearly four decades.
The story begins in 1985, when founder Joe Madden established Madden Custom Homes in Priest Lake, Idaho. At its roots, the company was a general contracting firm dedicated to building luxury homes across Northern Idaho. From the very beginning, Joe emphasized quality, detail, and artistry—principles that would shape the company’s future.
By 1997, Madden Custom Homes evolved into Madden Millworks, shifting its focus from general contracting to the specialized art of architectural millwork. With this transition, the company began fabricating truly custom elements—doors, stairways, ceilings, and moldings—that elevated homes into works of art.
In 2001, Madden Millworks relocated to the Palos Verdes Peninsula in Southern California, where it quickly gained recognition as one of the premier millwork shops in the region. The company’s reputation grew through its work on prestigious projects across Montecito, Santa Barbara, Rancho Palos Verdes, Bel Air, Beverly Hills, and beyond. Known for delivering millwork of uncompromising quality, Madden Millworks became a trusted name among architects, builders, and discerning clients.
The journey continued in 2015, when the business moved east to Jacksonville, Florida, expanding its legacy of craftsmanship to new markets. Madden Millworks has since contributed to some of the most prestigious projects in the region, including the restoration of the historic Lane Towers Mansion in Avondale, Jacksonville—a testament to the company’s ability to blend timeless tradition with modern precision.
At its heart, Madden Millworks has always been—and continues to be—a family business. Joe’s three sons grew up immersed in the shop, learning the trade alongside their father. Today, two of them remain actively involved in the company, carrying forward the skills, passion, and commitment that have defined Madden Millworks for generations.
